TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer III (Aerospace & Defense): Designing, developing, testing, and deploying advanced mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications with an accent on complex analysis, CAD-based design, and cross-functional systems integration. Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment

Salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the design and development of advanced mechanical systems and components.
  • Perform complex analyses and simulations to validate and optimize designs.
  • Develop and oversee detailed test plans and procedures.
  • Review technical documentation, reports, production non-conformances, and discrepancy reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems and participate in the program Configuration Control Board.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical design principles, CAD software, and computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance are required.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods and occasionally travel.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of GD&T according to ASME Y14.5, parametric design, model-based definition, materials, manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Experience in aerospace and defense, aircraft or space environmental requirements, and engineering non-conformance disposition.
  • Familiarity with FAA, NASA, or DoD regulations and experience with military aircraft such as the C-130.
