Sr Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY; the Space Actuation team is based in East Aurora, NY

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 annually

What you will do

• Translate complex project requirements into computer models, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Oversee technical design, implementation, and delivery of projects, processes, or programs.
• Collaborate with systems, project, and quality engineering teams to develop cost-effective, functional products.
• Create and check detail drawings and maintain accurate, complete bills of materials.
• Verify proportionality, sizing, dimensional accuracy, design integrity, and tolerance limits.
• Specify materials and support the selection of suitable processing procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant design engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment; aerospace experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, drafting practices, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Experience with mechanical CAD tools and communication with technical customers and vendors.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
• Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software.
• Experience with Teamcenter PLM.
