Software Engineer 2

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. Workplace: On-site. United States citizenship and an appropriate security clearance, such as active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph, are required.

Salary: $64.04–$120.27 per hour.

What you will do

• Analyze user and system requirements and translate them into software designs and feasible technical solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance, test, debug, and maintain complex software applications and systems.
• Develop algorithms, optimize data queries and database interactions, and support processing-intensive and real-time workloads.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers on architecture, integration, compatibility, and system constraints.
• Create and execute software test procedures, resolve defects, and maintain technical documentation.
• Coordinate development activities, lead small efforts when needed, and improve engineering processes and workflows.

Requirements

• Fourteen years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, statistics, management, or a related discipline; four additional years of software engineering experience may substitute.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph is required.
• United States citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
• Experience with Jira and GitLab for development workflows, issue tracking, and version control.
• Proficiency coordinating Agile/Scrum teams and delivering projects on schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Terraform infrastructure as code, AWS cloud security, and CI/CD pipelines.
