Grad Intern - Operations - Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote or onsite in New Albany, Ohio; Holly Springs, North Carolina; South San Francisco, California; or Thousand Oaks, California. Students must be located in the United States for the duration of the approximately 13-week internship.

What you will do

• Lead a defined engineering project workstream from problem framing and analysis through recommendations and implementation planning.
• Support project design teams and subject-matter experts with engineering plans, standards, equipment selection, and technical documentation.
• Analyze technical feasibility, lifecycle impacts, costs, schedules, risks, and benefits for capital-project decisions and business cases.
• Assess engineering, construction, and operational processes to identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency, innovation, and risk reduction.
• Develop or improve digital, automation, data, AI-enabled tools, and dashboards for engineering workflows and decision-making.
• Prepare project updates, findings, and recommendations for engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders while supporting EHS initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program.
• Must have graduated with a bachelor's degree and be enrolled in an accredited MBA, master's, PharmD, or PhD program, with the first year completed before the internship starts.
• Must be available for a full-time schedule and remain enrolled after the internship or co-op.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include engineering, project delivery, construction, computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, operations research, mathematics, statistics, and EHS-related disciplines.
• Experience with engineering, analytics, research, continuous improvement, structured problem-solving, data analysis, project management, and technical communication is preferred.
• Preferred tools include Python, SQL, Power BI or Tableau, data visualization, statistical analysis, process modeling, BIM/Revit, automation platforms, and generative AI tools.

Nice to have

• Interest in applying AI, automation, data, and digital tools to engineering processes, capital-project delivery, quality, safety, or operational performance.
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and make evidence-based recommendations.
