Actuarial Senior Software Engineer, Mainframe

Location: Milwaukee, WI Corporate; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $118,960–$178,440 annually. Geographic-specific ranges include $130,880–$196,320 and $136,800–$205,200 USD.

What you will do

• Translate business needs from actuarial subject matter experts into software engineering projects.
• Develop, create, and implement changes to mainframe-based financial reporting applications.
• Support calculations related to customer premiums, claim payments, and reserves.
• Improve core systems and deliver reliable solutions to actuarial business users.
• Provide guidance to less experienced software engineers and conduct peer reviews.
• Establish and share team standards, design practices, and engineering best practices across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 4–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience developing and supporting mainframe-based applications is preferred.
• Experience with JCL, PL/I, SAS, or similar fourth-generation tools; SQL experience is desired.
• Experience with change management concepts and tools such as ChangeMan, ServiceNow, or Control-M.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, design-pattern, and architecture skills.
