Location: On-site at Fort Eustis, Virginia, United States. Travel up to 25% is required.

Salary: $90,000–$112,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Provide systems engineering and analysis support for aircraft test and evaluation, including technical performance measures and post-test data analysis.
  • Develop modeling and simulation environments, system architectures, verification plans, test plans, and test reports.
  • Create substantiation documentation, designs, and drawings for integrating candidate solutions onto U.S. Army aviation platforms.
  • Prepare structural load test plans covering airframe characteristics and expected load paths.
  • Conduct and support material, environmental, electromagnetic, sub-component, and full-system testing in accordance with applicable engineering standards.
  • Analyze Resonance Assessment Profiles and vibration data to identify potential resonance within 5% of rotor harmonics.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active, in-scope U.S. Secret security clearance are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 2+ years of relevant aviation or R&D experience, or a master’s degree and 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with classical analysis, finite element analysis software, fatigue analysis, and finite or infinite life assessments.
  • Experience generating aviation or R&D test plans, analyses, and reports and presenting findings at technical interchange meetings and senior-level briefings.
  • The role is performed on-site at Fort Eustis, Virginia, with standard work hours.
  • Availability for up to 25% travel, including site surveys, technical meetings, training, testing support, and equipment movement.
