Project Engineer (Hypersonic Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; primarily onsite with occasional remote work of no more than one day per week. Travel is estimated at less than 10%.

Base salary: $123,000–$153,700 for the Sr Level or $151,000–$185,700 for the Staff Level annually.

What you will do

• Support the Chief Engineer, Program Director, and program functions in executing customer aerospace programs.
• Develop technical strategies for open-ended problems and manage project risks.
• Coordinate Bill of Materials development, vendor selection, supply-chain activities, and manufacturing preparation.
• Plan and support ground and flight testing of aerospace platforms.
• Support business proposals, program planning, and customer-facing technical meetings.
• Prepare and participate in Engineering Review Board phase-gate reviews, including SRR, PDR, and CDR.

Requirements

• Experience as a Project Engineer or in a comparable role with a prime contractor or as a program integrator.
• Experience managing support vendors and/or subcontractors.
• Experience maintaining, modifying, or testing aerospace platforms.
• Working knowledge across aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, structures, controls, and aerothermodynamics.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DOW security clearance.

Nice to have

• Hypersonic or supersonic vehicle development experience.
• Defense-contract and classified-program experience.
• Hypersonic or high-speed tactical missile experience, including multi-stage systems, hot-structure airframes, or launch-platform integration.
• Rocket propulsion systems experience.
• Active DOW security clearance or experience with Siemens NX/Teamcenter.
