Middle School Teacher: ELA or Science (Immediately Hiring)

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Starting salary: $50,500 per year for first-year teachers with a bachelor's degree.

What you will do

• Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned ELA or science instruction for middle school students.
• Design lessons that develop analysis, reasoning, academic discourse, writing, reading, and problem-solving.
• Use modeling, guided practice, differentiation, and targeted supports to provide access to grade-level content.
• Establish strong classroom routines, high expectations, productive struggle, and a safe learning environment.
• Use checks for understanding, student work, and assessment data to adjust instruction, reteach, and accelerate learning.
• Collaborate with the principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, teachers, and regional support staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related content area.
• At least two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Valid Missouri Teacher Certification required.
• Demonstrated ability to improve student achievement, use data to inform instruction, and close learning gaps.
• Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for historically underserved students.

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-performing, data-driven school environment.
• Experience with standards-aligned curricula and assessment systems.
• Leadership experience within a grade level, content team, or school initiative.
• Additional state teaching certification.
