Director, People & Culture

Location: Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Metropolitan Area; hybrid role with three days per week in the downtown Kitchener office

Salary: CA$140,000–CA$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead culture, engagement, and communication across a hybrid organization of approximately 50 people.
• Own performance management, skills and career frameworks, talent reviews, and development planning.
• Translate company strategy and key decisions into clear internal communications with the CEO and COO.
• Advise department leads on people matters and support leadership development.
• Lead People Operations, including HRIS accuracy, onboarding, offboarding, and Canadian employment law compliance.
• Manage compensation cycles, hiring standards, headcount planning, and AI adoption across the People function.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of progressive People experience, including experience in a scaling technology company.
• Experience owning a performance management, engagement, or culture program with measurable results.
• Experience leading a return-to-office process or building an effective hybrid culture.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario employment law.
• Collaborative, resilient, people-first approach with the ability to make decisions and bring in specialists when needed.
• Comfort using AI tools and interest in expanding their use in People work.

Nice to have

• Experience managing a direct report.
• Leadership development program design experience.
• CHRP or CHRL designation.
• Familiarity with US employment practices.
