Director, Finance (AI)

Location: Hybrid in the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Metropolitan Area; Kitchener-based candidates preferred. Toronto-area candidates may be considered if able to be in Kitchener regularly.

Salary: CAD $180,000–$200,000 per year

RouteThis develops AI-powered solutions that help Internet Service Providers and smart home companies identify and resolve connectivity and WiFi problems.

What you will do

• Build and maintain weekly forecasts covering ARR by product line, expenses, and cash, and lead annual budgeting.
• Partner with the CEO, COO, Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services on strategy, unit economics, pricing, and business planning.
• Own monthly and quarterly close processes, including the SaaS and AI revenue and P&L split.
• Prepare board and investor materials and manage runway, covenants, accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and foreign exchange exposure.
• Lead the Financial Controller and establish finance rhythms for collections, spending approvals, and forecasting.
• Support audit readiness, insurance reviews, internal controls, and the use of AI and modern finance tools.

Requirements

• CPA, CA, or CMA designation.
• Seven or more years of progressive finance experience, including substantial FP&A experience.
• Experience in a SaaS or subscription business; usage-based revenue recognition or multiple revenue models is an asset.
• Experience preparing board and investor materials and cash forecasts with senior executives.
• Ability to build live, rolling financial models and take ownership of newly established finance processes.
• Strong communication skills, practical attention to detail, and comfort using AI tools.

Nice to have

• Exposure to more than one revenue model or usage-based revenue recognition.
• Experience operating without a CFO in place.
