Principal Program Manager, Design Operations (AI)

Location: Remote, open to candidates in the United States and Canada; PST/MST time zones

Salary: $111,000–$199,650 base salary annually for U.S.-based roles

What you will do

• Own and manage programs that improve design team health, efficiency, alignment, and impact.
• Establish program goals, strategies, operating models, governance, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Lead design sprints and workshops for user-facing products and internal programs and services.
• Coach design team members on prioritization, effort estimation, asset management, and knowledge sharing.
• Design and implement new ways of working using design thinking methods and stakeholder collaboration.
• Document and share DesignOps best practices while supporting the growth of the discipline across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of design program management experience in a software environment.
• Familiarity with user-centered design, UX tools and techniques, and Agile software development methods.
• Strong project management, writing, reporting, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Fluency with the software development life cycle and the design team’s role within it.
• Solid AI foundation and experience improving designers’ AI fluency; ability to travel occasionally, likely 10% or less.
