Senior Technical Program Manager, Software Systems (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Burlington, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Compensation: $165,000–$200,000 annually.

What you will do

• Own the integrated software execution plan, including schedules, dependencies, releases, milestones, readiness criteria, and escalation paths.
• Coordinate product, customer, and program commitments across shared software resources and resolve competing priorities.
• Lead cross-functional execution across software engineering, AI/Data Science, DevSecOps, UI/UX, mission systems, testing, product, program management, and operations.
• Translate technical priorities into actionable work plans, backlogs, sprint plans, release plans, and measurable milestones.
• Run planning and execution cadences including backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning, retrospectives, and readiness reviews.
• Identify dependencies, resource constraints, schedule risks, and unrealistic commitments, then facilitate tradeoffs and escalation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience leading complex software development programs, technical programs, or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Experience coordinating multiple engineering disciplines, products, or programs with shared resources and competing priorities.
• Technical fluency across software engineering, AI/ML, DevSecOps, and systems integration environments.
• Experience creating executable plans, dependencies, milestones, release schedules, and readiness criteria.
• Strong knowledge of Agile software development and hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, GitHub Projects, or similar tools.
• Ability to influence technical and business leaders without direct authority and communicate execution risks, options, and tradeoffs.

Nice to have

• Experience with defense, aerospace, government, or other mission-critical programs.
• Experience delivering products that combine software with hardware, sensors, edge computing, or complex physical systems.
• Experience with customer deployments, formal readiness gates, or releases requiring significant integration and testing.
• Familiarity with radar, sensing, autonomy, or other real-world AI-enabled systems.
