Supervisor, Metrology & Inspection

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite production-floor role

Salary: $116,420–$160,080 per year

What you will do

• Supervise daily inspection and metrology operations using CMMs, portable arms, laser and structured-light scanners, and conventional inspection tools.
• Lead, coach, and mentor inspection and metrology technicians while coordinating staffing, workloads, equipment, and production schedules.
• Serve as the technical contact for measurement strategy, CMM execution, inspection troubleshooting, and data integrity.
• Partner with manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and production teams to resolve inspection issues, support root-cause and corrective actions, and improve manufacturability.
• Drive adherence to ISO, AS, customer, drawing, and control-plan requirements while reviewing results and escalating quality risks.
• Support metrology technology, automation, fixturing, 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• At least 3 years of hands-on inspection, metrology, and quality experience in a fast-paced aerospace, automotive, or production environment.
• At least 2 years of people leadership or supervisory experience with responsibility for coaching and performance management.
• Working knowledge of metrology programming and operations, including PC-DMIS, Calypso, Zeiss Inspect, Verisurf, or equivalent systems.
• Proficiency in GD&T, complex engineering drawings, CMMs, portable arms, laser or structured-light scanning, and precision inspection instruments.
• Experience with regulated quality systems, troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and changing production priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience connecting CMM data with MES or SPC software.
• Machine shop experience and knowledge of design for manufacture or product development lifecycles.
• Experience with root-cause and corrective action, QMS, process auditing, and statistical quality analysis.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field.
