Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Consumer Technology)

What you will do

• Provide daily hands-on quality support for high-volume consumer technology production lines.
• Monitor line yields, scrap rates, and first-pass yields while supporting production ramps.
• Lead defect containment and Material Review Board evaluations for non-conforming lots.
• Set up optical, CMM, cosmetic, and AQL inspection protocols for precision components.
• Prepare First Article Inspection Reports and verify dimensional compliance against drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Investigate defects using 8D and 5-Why methods and maintain compliant production documentation.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in high-volume hardware, consumer electronics, precision machining, or advanced metal manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T under ASME Y14.5, CMMs, optical comparators, height gauges, basic SPC, and 8D troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-rate manufacturing environment where rapid containment is critical.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer technology enclosures, metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, or surface finishing.
• ASQ CQE or CQA certification, or a Six Sigma Green Belt.
