TL;DR
Data Scientist (Medicare Part D & Market Access) (Healthcare Analytics/RWE): Analyzing Medicare Part D, claims, pharmacy, EHR, and other real-world healthcare datasets to support drug formulary strategy, market access, pricing, and HEOR decisions with an accent on predictive modeling, CMS data, and healthcare economics. Focus on building statistical and machine-learning models, detecting fraud and market anomalies, adapting analyses to regulatory changes, and translating complex findings into client-facing recommendations.

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zone. Candidates in Washington, DC or Austin, TX may work in a hybrid arrangement. Applicants must be legally authorized to work full time in the United States.

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 annual base salary plus bonus plan.

What you will do

  • Develop, validate, and deploy predictive and statistical models in Python or R for prescription drug spending, patient utilization, and market trends.
  • Analyze Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Event claims, formulary structures, and beneficiary out-of-pocket costs.
  • Query, clean, and synthesize large administrative healthcare datasets, including CMS and Medicaid data, using SQL and cloud data platforms.
  • Build data-mining approaches to identify anomalies, attrition, and potential fraud, waste, or abuse.
  • Conduct observational research and real-world evidence studies for life sciences clients.
  • Translate analytical findings into reports, presentations, exhibits, and actionable recommendations with consultants and subject-matter experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, health economics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Medicare PDE data and professional experience using SAS.
  • Experience in healthcare analytics, HEOR, RWE, observational research, claims data, and pharmacy data.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid data, reimbursement, healthcare policy, CCW, VRDC, T-MSIS, or similar environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and project-prioritization skills.
  • U.S. work authorization is required; employment sponsorship is not available.
