Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: 100% remote, open only to candidates currently based in Canada who reside in Canada and are legally authorized to work there.

Salary: CAD 153,845–170,039 annually, excluding potential equity, benefits, and perks.

What you will do

• Build and maintain features and services across multiple codebases using technologies such as TypeScript, Python, and Ruby.
• Design and document medium-sized technical projects involving collaborating classes and database schema changes.
• Write, test, review, and maintain high-quality code while improving reliability and responding to feedback.
• Develop interfaces and integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs.
• Join the Rapid Response team to automate manual Docket Operations workflows and solve high-impact business problems.
• Apply AI- and data-powered components in production while following responsible data and privacy guidelines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, excluding internships, focused on backend or full-stack development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages, such as Ruby or Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, caching, and database optimization.
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, responsive design, accessibility, and user experience fundamentals.
• Ability to consume APIs, integrate frontend applications with backend services, communicate clearly, and clarify product or design requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate delivery.
• Exposure to design systems or shared component libraries.
• Experience with frontend performance optimization and debugging.
