Senior AV Engineer

Location: Hybrid, based in the Toronto office with regular travel to Kitchener and periodic international travel to European, APAC, and US offices, primarily New York. The role requires a valid passport, occasional physical installation work, and the ability to lift and move AV equipment.

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 CAD base salary per year

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of AV and unified communications environments, including meeting room design, architecture, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Administer Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Teams Rooms, and Zoom Rooms across global offices, including certified hardware, firmware, room health, and proactive remediation.
• Deploy and support Yodeck and BrightSign digital signage platforms, including player provisioning, content scheduling, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Design and support networked AV systems using AV-over-IP, Dante, multicast, VLAN segmentation, and QoS in partnership with Network Engineering.
• Coordinate and operate corporate events, town halls, and hybrid broadcasts, including audio reinforcement, video switching, streaming, and presenter support.
• Provide white-glove support to staff and executives, mentor IT colleagues, and maintain runbooks, diagrams, and knowledge articles.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in corporate AV engineering, integration, or a closely related role.
• Expert administration experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom, including Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and management consoles.
• Experience designing and implementing AV systems for rooms of different sizes, including large and complex spaces.
• Working knowledge of AV-over-IP, Dante, multicast, VLANs, and QoS, plus experience with digital signage and corporate live events.
• Strong communication, analytical troubleshooting, vendor management, documentation, ownership, and composure-under-pressure skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Kitchener and periodically to international offices; a valid passport is required.

Nice to have

• AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Dante Level 2/3, Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or Microsoft Teams Rooms certifications.
• Experience with AV control systems, DSP platforms, room booking systems, and workplace technology platforms.
• Enterprise IT experience with identity and access management, endpoint management, Jira, or ITIL-aligned processes.
• Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience supporting globally distributed, multi-office organizations across time zones.
