Senior Data Management Engineer (Databricks)

What you will do

• Design and implement data quality frameworks, rules, scoring methodologies, remediation workflows, and escalation models across multiple data domains.
• Build metadata and data catalog automation, including lineage capture, harvesting strategies, integrations, and business glossary bindings.
• Develop data classification, access control, attribute-based policy, tagging automation, and dynamic masking patterns in the enterprise data platform.
• Create reusable governance components, libraries, APIs, and technical standards; evaluate tooling and recommend platform configurations and integrations.
• Mentor engineers, review technical work, lead governance workstreams, and manage scoping, sequencing, and progress reporting.
• Partner with data owners, stewards, platform engineering, enterprise architecture, and cybersecurity to translate policies into enforceable controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least five years of experience in data management, data engineering, or data governance engineering.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and demonstrated proficiency in Python.
• End-to-end experience implementing at least one enterprise data management capability, such as data quality, metadata and catalog, master data, or data access control.
• Ability to independently design technical solutions and explain design decisions to technical and business stakeholders across multiple data domains.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing DQX on Databricks and hands-on experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Experience with attribute-based access control, tag-based policies, and conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
• Six to eight years of relevant experience and experience in SOX, NERC CIP, privacy-regulated, gas, or electric utility environments.
• CDMP certification or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
