Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server/Databricks)

Location: Onsite in San Diego, Irvine, or Los Angeles, California; Centennial, Colorado; or Las Vegas, Nevada. Remote and hybrid work are not available.

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 per year, plus eligible annual discretionary cash and restricted stock unit bonus targets of 12.5% each.

What you will do

• Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting, and scalability improvements.
• Manage backups, restores, and high-availability/disaster-recovery solutions.
• Maintain database security, integrity, and compliance.
• Develop and manage Databricks data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data transformations.
• Use Spark with PySpark or Scala for large-scale data processing and collaborate on data platform initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and database optimization expertise.
• Experience automating database server maintenance with T-SQL, PowerShell, and Python.
• Hands-on Databricks experience and experience with Spark, PySpark, or Scala.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Delta Lake or data lake architecture.
• Experience with DB2, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD or DevOps tools.
