Forward Deployed Data Engineer (Databricks): Modernizing enterprise legacy data ecosystems into cloud-native Lakehouses and building secure agentic AI data harnesses with an accent on Databricks, PySpark, Terraform, and production data engineering. Focus on designing client architectures, migrating Teradata, Netezza, Informatica, and Oracle workloads, and unblocking delivery across integrated engineering pods.
Location: Houston, United States
Salary: $180,000–$230,000 annual base salary, plus potential annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do
- Lead technical architecture and data strategy engagements with client VP and CTO stakeholders.
- Modernize legacy data platforms into cloud-native Databricks Lakehouse and Medallion Architectures.
- Build and optimize production pipelines using PySpark, Databricks SQL, Delta Live Tables, and Workflows.
- Design secure, deterministic data harnesses for integrating Anthropic/Claude LLM workflows into enterprise pipelines.
- Provision AWS and GCP environments with Terraform and manage governance and lineage through Unity Catalog.
- Guide LATAM-based engineering squads through code reviews, performance debugging, and technical escalations.
Requirements
- Extensive production data engineering experience with Python and advanced SQL.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, PySpark, DLT, and Workflows.
- Expert experience with dbt, Terraform, Git, and Airflow for data modeling, infrastructure, orchestration, and CI/CD.
- Experience migrating Teradata, Netezza, Informatica, and Oracle workloads to modern cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to communicate architectures to executive stakeholders and debug production data systems hands-on.
- High autonomy and resilience in a fast-paced Series A environment.
Nice to have
- Forward-deployed, technical consulting, or professional services experience.
- Production experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or the Anthropic API.
- Databricks, AWS, GCP, or dbt certifications.
