Data Engineering Architect, Senior (Databricks)

What you will do

• Translate product analytics KPIs and data requirements into scalable, production-grade datasets.
• Design, build, operate, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion through serving.
• Evolve the Product Analytics Lakehouse architecture, including scalability, performance, reliability, governance, and cost tradeoffs.
• Build modeled Gold-layer datasets for analytics, experimentation, and AI/ML use cases with controlled data access.
• Lead Databricks migration and modernization strategies for existing data workloads while maintaining downstream continuity.
• Establish reusable frameworks, standards, and guardrails; provide architectural guidance and mentor engineers and technical contributors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, software engineering, or related fields.
• Deep production experience with SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, distributed processing, and cloud data environments.
• At least 2 years of recent hands-on production experience with Databricks.
• Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture, ELT, bronze/silver/gold data models, dimensional or domain-oriented modeling, and data governance.
• Experience owning production data systems, including monitoring, debugging, incident resolution, migrations, CI/CD, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience; strong communication and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with product analytics data, event tracking, user behavior, and experimentation.
• Master’s degree.
