What you will do

• Lead long-range planning for natural gas and electric distribution systems.
• Oversee integrated gas-electric solutions analysis covering load growth, customer behavior, infrastructure reinforcement, and gas supply.
• Evaluate electrification, distributed energy resources, clean fuels, emerging technologies, and Grid of the Future initiatives.
• Develop strategic planning scenarios, jurisdictional plans, growth assessments, and proactive infrastructure strategies.
• Champion non-traditional solutions, including non-wires alternatives, non-pipeline alternatives, targeted demand solutions, and DER-enabled approaches.
• Coordinate forecasting assumptions, planning methodologies, regulatory filings, and cross-functional alignment across jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math/Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in electric distribution planning, gas system planning, or non-traditional solution development.
• Supervisory or lead experience overseeing complex technical projects and relationships.
• Strong relationship-building, written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex data into recommendations for senior leaders and work with a largely virtual, distributed team.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Expert witness testimony experience in a regulated utility.
• Experience with long-term engineering-based planning, multi-value planning, and optimization methods.
