Commissioning Engineer (Power Systems Automation)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, United States; frequent domestic and international travel of at least 60% is required.

Salary: $90,000–$150,000 per year for Project Engineer II; the range may vary by level and experience.

What you will do

• Commission, functionally test, troubleshoot, and diagnose control system logic, communications, inputs and outputs, and field wiring at customer locations.
• Contribute to power system automation designs, logic and HMI development, functional testing, and documentation in the office.
• Complete assigned work within agreed scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality and safety.
• Participate in preparing functional design specifications.
• Prepare and maintain design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and other deliverables.
• Apply SEL values, operating principles, and manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or significant experience in automation and commissioning of power control systems.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and automation or power systems.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration or automation, and communications applications.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 60% of the time.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.
