Field Claims Representative (Insurance)

Location: Toledo, OH, with field claims work in Summit, Lorain, or Medina Counties

What you will do

• Investigate claims, assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and analyze legal liability.
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims, with an emphasis on property claims, within an assigned field territory.
• Review insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to determine applicable coverage.
• Work toward claim resolution and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when necessary.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on-site visits and ensure claim payments are issued accurately and promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent direct experience handling property and casualty claims.
• At least 3 years of experience handling multi-line property and casualty claims, preferably with an emphasis on property claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, data interpretation, and issue-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work with diverse individuals, and perform mathematical calculations involving geometry, unit costs, sums, and financial documents.
• Ability to drive, a valid driver’s license, and a driving record meeting company underwriting guidelines.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship is required.

• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
