Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Remote-field position based in Northridge, Van Nuys, Hollywood, or Burbank, California; candidates must reside within the listed service-territory ZIP codes. Work is performed from home and in the field using a mobile office/vehicle, with occasional travel to other territories and flexible, overtime, or irregular hours as needed.

Salary: $69,398.62–$111,595.00 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential and commercial property claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Meet with policyholders, explain coverage, gather information, and resolve claims.
• Document evidence, prepare detailed reports, and use mobile and desktop tools to support claims handling.
• Evaluate policy coverage and compliance with regulations, then negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.
• Handle customer inquiries and difficult conversations throughout the claims process.

Requirements

• Experience investigating problems, evaluating information, interpreting policies, and making well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for field and remote documentation.
• Physical agility for frequent lifting, carrying, ladder climbing, roof navigation, and crawling in tight spaces; rope and harness safety training may be required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, and background checks.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent property claims experience.
• Strong knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction.
• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Experience with Xactimate and XactContents.
