Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, United States. Remote-field position requiring residence within the listed local ZIP-code territory, on-site property inspections, a mobile office/vehicle, and occasional travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Inspect and assess residential and commercial property damage, including accident- and weather-related claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Gather evidence, document findings, prepare reports, and evaluate policy coverage and compliance.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to resolve claims.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while providing professional customer service.
• Work flexible schedules, including overtime or irregular hours when required.

Requirements

• Strong investigation, analytical, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret detailed insurance policies, guidelines, and technical information.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, navigate roofs at various heights, and crawl through tight spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work within the assigned Coeur d’Alene-area territory are required.
• Successful completion of required training, licensing examinations, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and any applicable safety training.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent property claims experience.
• Knowledge of property insurance policies, claim handling, and residential and commercial construction.
• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Experience with Xactimate and XactContents.
