Operations Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA; onsite plant operations

Salary: $101,500–$139,600 per year base salary

What you will do

• Lead daily operations for an ingredient and flavor plant producing more than 13 million pounds annually.
• Manage a 25-person, 24/5 operation across production and supporting functions.
• Establish production standards and ensure employee safety, food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and cost objectives are met.
• Manage plant budgets, staffing, maintenance, overhead costs, and capital expenditures.
• Lead continuous improvement, OPEX, waste reduction, and cost savings initiatives.
• Resolve manufacturing, maintenance, technical, quality, and employee safety issues while coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in a small-plant manufacturing environment or 5+ years in a medium-plant manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing plant operations, production standards, budgets, cost controls, and process plans.
• Ability to develop employees through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management.
• Ability to lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and resolve technical and operational problems.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and business skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field.
• Experience working in a union or non-union manufacturing environment.
• Experience with lean and Six Sigma concepts, programs, and systems.
• Financial acumen, project management skills, and experience developing talent.
• Experience advancing corporate social responsibility through community involvement.
