2027 Investment Banking Analyst I (Energy, Infrastructure, & Transition)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; normal office environment. Some travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop and audit sophisticated financial analyses and financial models.
• Prepare industry, financial, valuation, credit, and cash-flow analyses.
• Support equity and debt placements, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other advisory transactions.
• Prepare client proposals, presentations, offering memoranda, and marketing materials.
• Conduct industry research, company due diligence, and analysis of investment banking opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior professionals and other CIBC Capital Markets units to execute client mandates.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in mathematics, engineering, business, economics, or a related discipline.
• Previous investment banking or corporate finance experience, together with relevant corporate finance training.
• Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, financial statements, accounting principles, business combinations, and financial markets.
• Strong technical, computational, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and meet client deliverables.
• Must be legally eligible to work at the specified United States location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.
