Laboratory Technician Chemistry (Temporary Contract)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; onsite laboratory environment

Salary: CAD 18 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare samples and perform extractions for organic and inorganic material analysis.
• Conduct sample analysis, integration, and data entry in the LIMS system.
• Perform method validation procedures according to applicable test methods.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments.
• Track consumables, request supplies, and maintain laboratory housekeeping.
• Follow the Quality System, applicable SOPs, and laboratory safety procedures.

Requirements

• University degree or college diploma in chemistry or a related field.
• Basic computer literacy and technical knowledge of applicable test methods.
• Laboratory safety and WHMIS training.
• Troubleshooting skills for instrument maintenance.
• Ability to work standing at a laboratory bench, lift up to 60 lbs, and handle hazardous materials while wearing required PPE.
• Availability for the Thursday-to-Sunday shift: 12:00 PM–8:00 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM–5:00 PM on weekends, with occasional extra hours, evenings, or weekends as needed.
