TL;DR
Laboratory Technician (Energy Minerals) (Energy Minerals): Conducting sample preparation, testing, characterization, and reporting for energy mineral samples with an accent on laboratory accuracy, equipment maintenance, safety, and quality assurance. Focus on analyzing mineral properties, improving laboratory procedures, and collaborating with geologists and engineers on investigations.

Location: Delta, British Columbia, Canada; onsite

Salary: CAD 21–23 per hour, 40 hours per week

What you will do

  • Prepare, analyze, and characterize energy mineral samples using laboratory equipment and specialized techniques.
  • Collect, record, analyze, and report experimental and testing data.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and verify laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Perform quality control checks and implement quality assurance measures.
  • Follow and enforce laboratory safety protocols while supporting a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals on research projects and investigations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in the energy or minerals industry.
  • Experience operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Knowledge of sample preparation, mineral testing, and energy mineral characterization methods.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, reporting, organization, and communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in Canada is required.

Nice to have

  • Laboratory safety certification, such as OSHA certification.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy mineral analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems.
