Laboratory Technician - DIDO - Winnipeg, MB to Red Lake, ON (Geochemistry)

Location: Drive-in/drive-out position from Winnipeg, MB to the Red Lake, ON site; two weeks on and two weeks off with 12-hour day and overnight shifts.

Salary: CAD 23–25 per hour

What you will do

• Perform routine testing and analysis in geochemistry laboratory departments, following written work instructions.
• Receive, identify, prepare, dilute, catalogue, store, dispose of, and return samples.
• Log samples accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System and assist with sample retrieval.
• Set up analytical batches, prepare standards and reagents, and complete batch quality control.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment, record calibrations, and monitor equipment maintenance and supplies.
• Interpret and evaluate results while following quality, health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions safely, accurately, and promptly.
• Good hand-eye coordination when handling samples and laboratory equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure during high-volume workloads while maintaining result quality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and LIMS.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada and be available for the Winnipeg-to-Red Lake drive-in/drive-out rotation.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary education in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or another science-related program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
