Summer 2027 Consumer Finance Internship

Location: Office-based in Columbus, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; or Minneapolis, Minnesota. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Compensation: $23.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Collaborate with a manager and team on department initiatives and meaningful business projects.
• Support consumer lending, banking, financial wellness, and business operations activities.
• Contribute to data analysis, customer experience, market research, and process improvement projects.
• Support financial analysis, credit risk assessments, lending operations, and data-driven decision-making.
• Provide recommendations to improve department performance and participate in internship events, volunteer activities, and team projects.
• Work independently and collaboratively while developing professional communication and business skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma and enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, with at least one academic term remaining after the summer program.
• Teamwork and leadership demonstrated through extracurricular activities or work experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Current full-time authorization to work in the United States is required; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Studies in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, financial services, banking, risk management, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Coursework in corporate finance, consumer lending, credit analysis, financial markets, risk management, banking operations, accounting, economics, statistics, financial modeling, or business strategy.
• Interest in consumer lending, vehicle finance, mortgage products, credit risk, risk ratings, pricing, spreads, and customer-focused financial solutions.
• Interest in banking as a career and the ability to apply sound judgment and logical reasoning.
