Vice President, Commercial Underwriter (CRE)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States

Salary: $139,530–$172,360 annually, depending on job location; eligible for annual bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock.

What you will do

• Underwrite complex loan requests and renewals across commercial real estate, working capital, term, formula-based, and traditional asset-based lending products.
• Review loan structures, financial spreads, entity structures, collateral, market data, and reports to identify inherent risks.
• Prepare opportunity memos, loan presentations, administrative action memos, annual reviews, and other recommendations for Credit Administration.
• Partner with lending officers on credit matters and unusual or closely scrutinized loans.
• Analyze complex and interlocking financial relationships and assess financing requests against the bank’s credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
• Present financing requests to senior management or Loan Committee, meet customers, visit loan sites, negotiate terms, and recommend approval.

Requirements

• 6+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, or commercial banking products.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, regulations, industry standards, and practices.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
