Corporate Development Manager (Clean Energy)

Location: London, UK; office-based approximately 3 days per week, with regular travel to the US and some evening hours to collaborate with California-based colleagues.

What you will do

• Build and own complex commercial, product unit economics, and project finance models.
• Evaluate financing structures, including cash flow waterfalls, customer contracts, residual value, tax equity, and partner economics.
• Analyze hardware and software unit economics and identify the key margin drivers.
• Evaluate strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions through market sizing, due diligence, valuation, and recommendations.
• Prepare and present board, investor, and lender materials to senior audiences.
• Build AI-enabled internal tools and dashboards and use proprietary data to support commercial decisions.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in investment banking project finance, management consulting, or strategy and financial modelling within an energy company.
• Hands-on project finance experience with cash waterfalls, sensitivity analysis, cost of capital analysis, term sheets, and lender discussions.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to build robust, usable financial models; experience with macros is useful.
• Basic knowledge of Python or similar tools for complex analysis that is less suited to Excel.
• Strong commercial analytics, unit economics, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work some evening hours for collaboration with California.

Nice to have

• Experience in residential or distributed energy, utilities, or energy infrastructure.
• Experience with leased or subscription-based products, financing structures, residuals, or customer lifetime value.
• Exposure to market entry, strategic partnerships, fundraising, or mergers and acquisitions.
