Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Precision Optics)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; onsite

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Analyze manufacturing data to identify quality, cycle-time, yield, and process issues.
• Work with Operations and Process Engineering to resolve bottlenecks, inefficiencies, defects, and training needs.
• Lead Production Readiness Reviews for products transitioning from New Product teams into manufacturing.
• Lead continuous-improvement projects, including project scoping, chartering, scheduling, team leadership, and stakeholder reporting.
• Conduct root-cause analyses, support Material Review Board meetings, and address systemic nonconformities.
• Review manufacturing plans, routings, yields, bills of materials, work instructions, and production variances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar role.
• Experience with statistics, statistical process control, Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Ishikawa, 5-Why, fault-tree analysis, value-stream mapping, time studies, and capacity analysis.
• Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing; precision optics manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to lead cross-functional, multi-line projects and present status updates to stakeholders and customers.
• Working knowledge of OEE and Theory of Constraints is preferred.
