Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: Remote in the USA or Canada

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 USD per year for US-based candidates, plus equity. Canadian compensation varies by province.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end product design for GrantOS across Platform, Core, and enterprise product areas.
• Define data relationships, permission models, integration surfaces, interaction patterns, and design-system foundations.
• Lead greenfield product definition, write briefs, frame problems, and shape roadmap direction with the PM.
• Design workflows for tasks, reporting, and integrations across the grant lifecycle.
• Recruit research participants, conduct interviews, and translate ambiguous needs into product decisions.
• Align product, engineering, and go-to-market stakeholders while coaching other designers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience, including meaningful staff- or principal-level experience.
• End-to-end ownership of a platform or core product area in complex B2B or enterprise SaaS.
• Experience defining data models, permissions, integration surfaces, and patterns used by other teams.
• Experience shipping net-new and 0-to-1 product work.
• End-to-end user research experience, from planning and recruiting through synthesis and product decisions.
• Experience designing agentic or AI-powered product surfaces.

Nice to have

• Experience defining design-system patterns and prototyping with AI tools such as Claude or Cursor.
• Exposure to compliance, data integrity, or workflow-heavy domains.
• Startup experience, mentoring or coaching experience, and familiarity with the nonprofit or social impact sector.
