Manager, Maintenance (Cannabis Manufacturing)

Location: Pemberton, BC, Canada; work takes place in office and production environments with regular site inspections, and requires availability for weekends, holidays, and after-hours emergencies.

Salary: CAD 90,000–110,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage facility infrastructure, utilities, equipment, and site-wide preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Develop multi-year asset lifecycle, capital, maintenance, and reliability plans aligned with production, budget, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee HVAC, humidity and dehumidification, CO₂, airflow, electrical systems, backup power, water, irrigation, fire protection, and security infrastructure.
• Lead maintenance compliance with Cannabis Regulations, GMP/GPP principles, quality systems, health and safety requirements, inspections, audits, deviations, investigations, and CAPAs.
• Direct internal maintenance staff, contractors, service providers, and vendors while coordinating with Operations, Cultivation, Post-Harvest, Quality, HSE, Procurement, and Finance.
• Track maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability, uptime, environmental excursions, response times, repeat failures, risks, projects, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of facility management experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial role, preferably in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of facility systems, utilities, asset management, preventive maintenance planning, and regulated operating environments.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, risk management, budgeting, vendor negotiation, contract administration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS experience.
• Comfort working in production areas with cannabis and plant-material exposure, PPE requirements, noise, dust, varying temperatures, and occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 lbs.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications.
• GMP experience.
• Experience managing large-scale facilities and familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements.
