Senior Manager, Construction-DS - Southwest Territory

Location: USA, Bentonville, Arkansas Home Office; weekly travel throughout the Southwest Business Unit is required

Salary: $80,000–$155,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Own delivery of 10–15 active store remodel projects, managing schedules, budgets, quality, safety, and overall performance.
• Travel weekly to project sites, walk stores, assess progress, support general contractors, and resolve issues firsthand.
• Identify project risks, resolve construction challenges, and escalate critical issues.
• Manage contractor and vendor performance, including scope, change orders, costs, timelines, and compliance with Walmart standards.
• Partner with Store Operations, Facilities, Procurement, design, engineering, and other teams to align priorities and minimize disruption.
• Use project management software, data, and emerging AI tools to monitor project health and improve construction delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field plus 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of relevant construction, engineering, architecture, or related experience.
• Strong construction project management experience delivering multiple concurrent projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.
• Hands-on field leadership, risk assessment, problem-solving, and contractor accountability experience.
• Experience managing project budgets, contracts, change orders, vendors, and construction-related risk.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel at least weekly throughout the Southwest Business Unit.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale retail, industrial, or multi-site construction programs, including new builds or remodels.
• Experience with construction project management platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, or AutoCAD.
• Experience with procurement, construction services contracts, sustainability, energy efficiency, or green building standards.
• Professional certification such as OSHA10, OSHA30, PE, PMP, CCM, or LEED AP.
