What you will do

• Provide direct patient care by obtaining vital signs, pain screens, weights, heights, and clinical specimens.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs, assist with invasive procedures, and support disease-center-specific clinical needs.
• Record patient information accurately in electronic medical records and report abnormal findings to nursing and medical staff.
• Transport patients, specimens, medical records, blood components, equipment, and supplies according to policy.
• Maintain clinical supplies, equipment, medical records, and patient-care areas.
• Communicate wait times, patient concerns, and status updates with patients, families, providers, and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Two years of equivalent experience in a medical setting required.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and technical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and in a busy setting with patients who have complex needs.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy certification may be preferred depending on the Yawkey 2 or satellite location.
