Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Tufts Medical Center - Framingham, United States; onsite

Pay range: $24.00–$28.80 per hour

What you will do

• Manage patient flow and coordinate room, provider, and resource availability in an outpatient setting.
• Prepare patients, medical records, and exam rooms for provider visits while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and patient history.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, and immunizations.
• Perform point-of-care testing, equipment quality checks, referrals, prior authorizations, and diagnostic procedure coordination.
• Support billing documentation, electronic medical record updates, supply management, quality improvement activities, and administrative communications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant national certification attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain it within three months.
• At least two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for accurate documentation and message taking.
• Knowledge of universal precautions, patient handling, patient safety, HIPAA, and electronic medical record systems.

Nice to have

• Three years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
