Medical Assistant, Certified - Reading

Location: Onsite at Tufts/MW Medical Center - Reading, 30 New Crossing Rd. Suite 300, Reading, MA 01867. Monday-Friday day shift, 40 hours per week.

Pay range: $23.00-$26.91 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Manage patient flow, room utilization, delays, and provider availability in the outpatient setting.
• Prepare patients, exam rooms, medical records, and clinical supplies for visits.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and patient histories.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, and immunizations.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing, including urine, HCG, Strep A, HGB A1C, and glucose tests.
• Support referrals, prior authorizations, diagnostic and surgical scheduling, billing documentation, electronic records, and administrative communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within three months.
• Less than two years of Medical Assistant experience is required; two years is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for documentation and message taking.
• Knowledge of EPIC, electronic medical records, universal precautions, patient handling, and HIPAA confidentiality.

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
