NPD Project Engineer IV (Power Generation)

What you will do

• Lead technical execution of new product development programs from concept through production launch.
• Architect, design, and integrate complex mechanical and electrical generator systems, including engines, alternators, enclosures, controls, and supporting subsystems.
• Translate customer, regulatory, and business requirements into system- and component-level requirements.
• Lead design reviews, testing, validation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to improve manufacturability, quality, scalability, and serviceability.
• Support schedules, cost estimates, design input tracking, launch readiness, engineering standards, SAP processes, and BOM management while mentoring less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 9 years of progressive engineering experience in new product development of complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with generator or power generation products, including system-level integration and cross-functional execution.
• Strong systems engineering, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and detailed drawing creation using Creo; experience with machine design and electromechanical integration.
• Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP systems; ability to work onsite in Oshkosh and occasionally travel.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience as a system or technical lead on generator or power generation development programs.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through major milestones and product launches.
• Experience creating engineering standards, design guidelines, and procedures.
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers in systems integration and technical decision-making.
