Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid work with four days onsite each week

Total cash compensation: $89,625–$131,441.66 annually, including annual base salary and target incentive.

What you will do

• Build stable, secure, scalable content platform services and applications.
• Develop content management, ingestion, workflow, search, and distribution capabilities.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services with .NET, Python, and AWS.
• Develop AI-enabled features for content tagging, metadata extraction, summarization, semantic search, and workflow automation.
• Integrate external AI and LLM services such as OpenAI and AWS Bedrock.
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least two years of experience developing commercial-quality applications.
• Strong programming skills in C# and Python, with experience building backend or platform systems.
• Experience with AWS compute services, messaging technologies, relational databases, search technologies, Amazon Neptune, graph databases, and Gremlin.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, domain modeling, SOLID principles, test-driven development, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Candidates requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future are not considered.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of modern frontend technologies such as Vue, React, Angular, or Web Components.
