What you will do
- Manage the commercial aspects of construction and low-carbon energy projects from pre-construction through final account.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cost plans, forecasts, cash flow projections, and Cost Value Reconciliations.
- Administer NEC and JCT contracts, including valuations, variations, compensation events, and final accounts.
- Lead subcontract procurement, tender analysis, negotiations, and subcontract award recommendations.
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks while monitoring subcontractor performance and project profitability.
- Lead commercial meetings, advise project teams, visit sites, and mentor Assistant and Quantity Surveyors.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in client and main contractor environments.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, cost management, procurement, contract administration, valuations, and final accounting.
- Experience delivering projects in building, infrastructure, energy, utilities, or civil engineering, preferably including decarbonisation projects.
- Strong negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, commercial reporting, forecasting, and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to project locations, ability to pass a DBS check, and legal eligibility to work in the UK.
