What you will do
- Manage the Building Condition Survey programme and related specialist surveying programmes across a large and varied estate.
- Lead the establishment and development of a national surveying capability, including recruitment, training, mentoring, and team development.
- Develop and embed surveying standards, methods, audit frameworks, quality procedures, and reporting metrics.
- Oversee survey delivery, KPIs, deadlines, contractual requirements, HSE compliance, and consistent quality of outputs.
- Conduct structured QA reviews of survey reports and support electronic survey-data capture systems.
- Collaborate with surveyors, data specialists, schedulers, auditors, Business Intelligence, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Established management experience in facilities management, construction, engineering, surveying, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing and developing field-based technical specialists and working with qualified professionals to deliver programme objectives.
- Background in quality management, HSE, structured QA procedures, service standards, SLAs, metrics, and performance reporting.
- Broad technical understanding of the built environment, including construction, maintenance, building services, compliance, and legislation.
- Relevant degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in engineering, surveying, facilities management, construction, or management; formal quality management training and relevant professional-body membership.
- Full UK Driving Licence and the ability to hold or obtain relevant security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Experience conducting M&E or building surveys.
- Experience with CAFM systems and Microsoft Power BI, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
