Operations Specialist (Damon, TX) (Gas Pipelines)

Energy infrastructure company providing energy transportation and storage services across North America.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain pipelines, compressor stations, pumps, engines, turbines, valves, instruments, and auxiliary equipment.
• Install, repair, service, and maintain pipeline equipment, corrosion-control systems, measurement equipment, storage wells, and facility infrastructure.
• Inspect and oversee third-party construction and maintenance activities, and train company and contractor personnel as required.
• Perform regulatory, safety, environmental, documentation, and record-keeping activities in accordance with company and governmental requirements.
• Represent the company in contacts with landowners, tenants, public officials, emergency officials, and local organizations.
• Respond to callouts and emergencies, including after regular business hours, and travel or work overtime as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer and math skills, along with knowledge of equipment operating costs and best practices.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers.
• Ability to work in extreme weather, confined spaces, elevated areas, excavations, ladders, stairwells, and low-lit areas; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimal supervision while working effectively with operations, engineering, management, customers, and suppliers.
• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check before employment.

Nice to have

• Experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high- and low-pressure systems.
• Experience analyzing and repairing compressor engines, pumps, and related equipment.
• Pipeline or compression experience.
