Midstream Mechanic (Oilfield)

Location: Keene, North Dakota, United States. Field-based work at North Dakota operations locations, indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. Overtime and rotating call-out support are required. Relocation may be considered.

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, inspect, troubleshoot, and overhaul gas and air compressors, pumps, engines, motors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, valves, and basic control systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, vibration monitoring, lubrication sampling, bearing inspections, alignment, and equipment condition checks.
• Complete pump and compressor repairs, including seal, packing, gasket, bearing, valve, clearance, and alignment work.
• Set up, purge, install, and remove process equipment and blinds; complete permits and assigned work orders with clear documentation.
• Apply safe work practices, including Permit to Work, energy isolation, PPE, respiratory protection, and line-of-fire controls.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, engineering, planning, scheduling, supply chain, and reliability contacts to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.
• Experience performing millwright functions on reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors, pumps, natural gas engines, fin fans, gearboxes, electric motors, valves, and basic control systems.
• Experience with equipment from manufacturers including Goulds, Clyde Union, Viking, Moyno, Ariel, Dresser-Rand, Howden, Frick, Elliott, Solar, Atlas Copco, Quincy, Caterpillar, or Waukesha.
• Proficiency with precision machinist tools and ability to operate a forklift, bridge crane, JLG, or other motorized equipment.
• Strong SAP skills for planning work orders, searching materials, and reviewing work schedules.
• Strong knowledge of applicable EHS procedures and ability to read P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, blueprints, and isometric drawings.

Nice to have

• Industrial or oilfield experience.
• Five or more years of mechanical experience with gas compressors, internal combustion engines, and pumps.
• Associate or technical degree.
• Strong analytical, technical, communication, collaboration, coaching, and continuous improvement skills.
