Generator Field Service Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

Location: Remote only with 100% travel required; typically 200–250 travel days per year to power plant job sites. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

What you will do

• Supervise technicians performing generator maintenance and repair during planned and unplanned power plant outages.
• Conduct visual inspections and electrical and mechanical testing to assess generator condition and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams worldwide on specialized testing and diagnostics.
• Analyze inspection findings and develop repair and maintenance recommendations with engineering teams.
• Serve as the primary customer contact during outages and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Develop expertise in equipment operation, maintenance, job-site safety, project management, leadership, and business systems through hands-on training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of large electrical apparatus, including generator inspection, testing, rewinds, and repairs.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and outdoors, walking long distances, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to travel 200–250 days per year for assignments lasting 2–15 weeks.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented leadership and effective customer and colleague collaboration.
• Entry-level candidates are considered; at least six months of field service experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Additional field service experience for consideration at a more senior level.
