Wastewater Technician II

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater treatment equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and troubleshoot conveyors, screens, thickeners, screw presses, ultrafilters, dosing systems, pumps, and piping.
• Repair or replace components and complete accurate work orders and service reports.
• Maintain, repair, and install PVC/CPVC, HDPE, odor, and negative-pressure systems.
• Install and set up new equipment and coordinate maintenance schedules with vendors.
• Communicate with operators and follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of prior related experience as a wastewater technician or in a related role.
• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training or the ability to complete the class after hire.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater facility operation and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
