Field Technician (Telecommunications)

Location: Joplin, Missouri, United States; field-based work at residential and business customer properties.

Compensation: Up to $19 per hour in total base compensation plus bonus, based on the national average.

What you will do

• Install customer service drops and outlets at residential and business properties.
• Use electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools to troubleshoot reception and service issues.
• Diagnose and repair problems from customer equipment through the first distribution amplifier.
• Verify upstream and downstream signal levels at customer premises.
• Recommend service upgrades and educate customers about new and existing equipment.
• Work in the field, drive a company vehicle, and support customers through on-call and overtime coverage as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in the state of application and a good driving record.
• At least three months of customer service or related experience and/or training; equivalent education and experience may be accepted.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, work in confined spaces and on ladders, and work in all weather conditions.
• Availability for overtime, on-call work, and regular, predictable attendance.
• Successful completion of background, drug screening, and reference checks; DOT-regulated roles also require a road test, driving-record review, DOT physical, and related safety checks.
